My Ultimate Home Server Dashboard: A Work in Progress
I’ve spent the last few months tinkering with my home server, and I’m finally ready to share my progress. I’m pretty happy with how it’s turning out, but I’m always looking for ways to make it better. So, I’d love to hear your feedback!
What’s Under the Hood?
Here’s the hardware I’m running:
- CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
- RAM: 32GB DDR4
- GPU: GTX 1080 (not really using it yet)
- OS: Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS
- Docker Frontend: Portainer
- Storage: 4.6TB HDD + 105GB SSD
The Software Stack
I’ve organized my services into a few categories on my homepage dashboard:
Media
- Jellyfin
- Jellyseerr
- Navidrome
- Kavita
- Suwayomi
This is where I manage and stream all my movies, TV shows, music, and books. It’s been great having everything in one place.
Automation & Indexers
- Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Readarr, Bazarr
- Prowlarr
- Notifiarr
- SABnzbd
Automation is key! This setup keeps my media library up-to-date with minimal effort.
Utilities
- Pi-hole
- Uptime Kuma
- FileBrowser (Quantum fork)
- Vaultwarden
- Wallos
- Nginx Proxy Manager
- Actual (for budgeting)
- ChangeDetection
- Pterodactyl (for game servers)
These are the tools that keep everything running smoothly and add some extra functionality.
Other/Misc
- yt-dlp web UI
- Paperless NGX
- Komf (for manga metadata)
- Mazanoke (image editor)
My Own Creations
I’ve also been working on a few personal projects:
- yt-dlp Hub (my own minimal UI + backend)
- LNCrawl Web App (custom web wrapper around lncrawl)
These are still experimental, but I’m learning a lot!
I Need Your Help!
I’m open to any suggestions you might have. Here are a few things I’m thinking about:
- Are there any apps or tools you think I should add to my stack?
- Any tips for improving my automation or dashboard setup?
- I’d also appreciate any feedback on the structure, UI, security, or storage of my current system.
- What cool features am I missing out on?
Thanks in advance for your input!
